When does the season start?

Spring: Games are on Sundays March thru May. There are no games on Easter Sunday.

Fall: Games are on Sundays September thru October. No games on Labor Day weekend.

Sign-Up Early!

Take advantage of early bird discounts and secure your spot on the team closest to your zip code. Every effort will be made to place your player on the team closest to your neighborhood but cannot be guaranteed.

What age level do I register my player for?

Once you're on the registration page you will see that the age levels are broken down by years. Boys are grouped by 2 years and girls are grouped by 3 years. Choose the age level in which your player's birthday falls.

For example:  14U Boys

Boys with birthdates from 09/01/2004 to 08/31/2006

Can my player “play up” even though he is not eligible for that age group?

The short answer is it depends. We strongly encourage players to play within their own age group. While players may have mastered some skills and outpace their peers there are always other skills they can work on to perfect their game. Few exceptions are made and need to be addressed by the OLC Board.

When will practices be?

Spring: Practice times and locations are at the discretion of the coaches. Typically, they are twice a week in a location near your area of the city. Teams are divided based on projected high school in order to grow the sport in all areas of the city.

Fall: Practice times are before the games on Sundays. No Practices during the week.

When will I hear from a coach?

Spring Only: Teams will be assigned about a week after registration closes and you should hear from a coach soon after that.

We live in Elkhorn and my players’ friends live in Millard. Can they play on the same team?

Teams are created based on zip code and school location. OLC’s goal is to grow the game in all parts of the Omaha Metro. Nelax (Nebraska High School Lacrosse Association) has set boundaries that we use as guidance when building our teams.

How can I get involved?

Omaha Lacrosse Club is a predominantly volunteer run organization with only 2 part-time employees. We rely heavily on our families to volunteer to coach, assistant coach, run time clocks, keep score, and be on our Board. Each season families are required to turn in a work bond of $100. This work bond is returned at the end of the season if you have donated 2 hours of volunteer time PER FAMILY (not per player).  Volunteer positions are posted on the website at the beginning of the season for each Sunday.
